If you’re a Flake Freak, please comment and tell us what you love about them. But people go NUTS over these things-why? Yes, there’s a textural interest in the layer thing, but it’s just not enough for me to get excited about. Now we know what it is and how it was created. My bar got pretty beat up in transit, but you can still tell what’s going on with it: The inside of this bar, or cross section, looks more like this: The inside of those bars has tons if circular air holes. This isn’t to be mistaken for aerated chocolate bars like Nestle’s Aero or the Wispa bar-it’s not the same thing. Thin layers of chocolate folded over each other. And that’s fantastic, don’t get me wrong. Let’s face it, most chocolate based candy bars are simply retreaded combinations of chocolate, caramel, nougat, perhaps some nuts…and maybe some crunchy cereal. That’s kinda how this whole thing works.īefore we go on-one thing I’ll say about this bar is that it’s unique. But I see them a lot, and now we’re reviewing it. Then again, that could simply be my impression. Of all the candy bars you see from Europe, none might be as common as the Flake Bar.
